Description
Discover the rich culinary heritage of Belgium in our very first cooking class conducted entirely in English! Perfect for English speakers in Brussels, this session will guide you through the preparation of an authentic Belgian menu. Join us for a fun and interactive experience where you'll learn to create traditional dishes and savor the unique flavors of Belgium.
Menu of this cooking class:
- « Chicon au Gratin » (Chickory Gratin) : Learn how to make this delicious cheesy uplifting dish. How to cook the chickory; make the best Béchamel (actually a Mornay since there’s cheese in it) and a wonderful golden crust.
- “Boulets rôtis à la Liégeoise, sauce lapin, et son stoemp au poireau». The best meatballs ever, (in Liège, they often forget to pronounce the last consonant, reason why it’s not boulette…), with its most famous slightly sweety sauce in which there is absolutely no rabbit. Instead of fries, that you can find anywhere in Belgium, you’ll learn how to make the favourite mashed potatoes with leek.
- « Gaufre de Bruxelles, sauce chocolat et glace vanille ». There is a neverending discussion on which are the best waffles. And Belgium is a complicated country : you’ll eat he Liège waffles in Brussels and the best Brussels waffles at the seaside… Anyway, this will be about a delicious, light and airy Brussels waffle with scoop of ice cream topped with a genuine chocolate sauce!
We organize our cooking classes in our Ixelles center located at Chaussée de Waterloo, 373 (Ma Campagne district).
The recipes are creative but accessible to all (no prerequisites required). The goal is to be able to reproduce the complete menu at home.
Participants will work on developing the entire menu. Of course, everything is done under the watchful eye of an experienced chef who will give you his professional advice and tips. Everything takes place in a friendly atmosphere focused on sharing.
